Disentomb

01) Hi Jord. How are the things in Disentomb now?
Hey dude. Things are going really well. The album has recieved great international recognition and our Australian tour went really well. At the moment we are taking a break from playing live to focus on writing new material.
02) Probably you are not that known to the readers so can tell us the history of Disentomb?
We formed a couple of years ago as a few mates with a similar taste in music and wanted to write the heaviest music we could.
03) Not many bands seem to have that quick way to the deal as you. Just one promo and already a deal with Amputated Vein and Obsidian Records? Tell me exactly how did go?
We were really happy with that. We had just finished the promo and were making up promo packs to send to international labels and AVR contacted us out of the blue. We jumped at the chance because that label has signed some bands we really look up to. We're good mates with the guys from Obsidian and they contacted us about taking care of our Australian distribution. AVR had no problem with that because they look after all our overseas merch so there wouldn't be any conflicts of interest.
04) Also why two labels?
AVR handles all overseas promo and Obsidian takes care of the Australian side of things.
05) What has happened that your previous band split up? Cadaverine went to ashes and how much the face of Disentomb differ from the Cadaverine?
We're not going to talk about anything to do with Cadaverine, that band is dead.
06) How does the situation looks at the Australia's Brutal scene? Anything to be a must to check it out?
Australia has a really small brutal death scene in comparison to the US, Europe, etc. What we do have though definitely proves quality over quantity. Intercine Excoriation and Iconic Vivisect are standouts for us.
07) Ok lets move to your album. It seems that you have no inspirations in old school Death Metal but mostly like the technical skills show-off fucking crazy style haha. So when you will tell the excuse why no old school then please name your biggest inspirations (lets say five) and explain why.
We have a lot of respect for old school death metal bands, but that just isnt our sound. We only want to write the heaviest, most brutal shit we can. Our 5 biggest influences would be Disgorge (US) Internal Suffering Brodequin Putridity (ITA) Defeated Sanity
08) To be honest your stuff is very ambitious and most of so called metal heads will no accept because it is too brutal. Did you choose the right way haha?
Brutal Death leaves no room for posers. Some cant handle it and we dont write to please everyone. If anyone thinks our music is "too heavy" then obviously they are looking into the wrong genre. We're not going to get any lighter, our new material is going to be heavier again.
09) Also you are exploring some of the Slam patterns. What do you think about Slam Death Metal? Isn't it true that recentlly there is too many bands in vein Devourment wanna' be?
A lot of modern slam bands are just reguritated riffs with little imagination and skill. There are some gems out there though, you just have to wade through a lot of shit. These days its just way too easy to be a slam band. There is definitely room in brutal death for "slamming" riffs though. But just because a band includes slam/ chunky/ heavy riffs doesn't mean they fall under the slam genre.
10) Some of the lyrics as I saw the information are about Apocalypse and some religious stuff. Why have you choose such themes instead of more likely gore stuff that fits more to Brutal Death Metal?
We'd like to think of our lyrics as a bit more creative than generic gore ones. Too many bands focus on purely gore lyrics, and that has been done to death. Certain bands can do it well, but that just isn't our style. We'd like our lyrics to tell a story, or describe a scene that could have existed in history. A lot of research goes into it.
11) So if we are speaking about it what do you think about the 2012 date? Do you think it is possible?
Anything is possible, but I think we're more likely to witness a nuclear end of days rather than a religious one.
12) Is there any chances you are going to play in Europe or in other words -> what are your conditions if someone wants to book you here in Europe?
We actually have plans to play Europe very soon. Keep an eye on our Facebook for more details..
13) What can we expect after your live gigs anyway?
Our stage performance matches our music. Crowds can expect total devastation because we'd like to be more than a band that just 'plays live' on stage. We want everyone to feel the intensity of our music, to be crushed with the brute force. We put just as much effort into our live shows as our song writing.
14) What do you think about polish metal scene?
I dont know much about the Polish death metal scene, but the Polish Putridity are insanely heavy.
15) That would be it. Cheers for your time and stay sick!
Thanks for the interview dude. Take care and stay brutal.
Jord.
