01) Hi Morris, I’m glad that you agreed for that interview. Ok lets get started. Why have you decided to open the chapter of Hymen Holocaust while you’ve been already in Cliteater?
Hi Waldemar!!
Well I started Hymen Holocaust because I wanted to do more than just Cliteater. I had too much free time at the time I started this sideproject. I had a guitar & recording equipment so I put some time in those things. I had some lyrics so I fucked around a bit with this stuff and a few songs came up. In Cliteater I have a smaller roll in the whole thing and I had very much ideas about making songs. With Hymen Holocaust I could make songs just the way I want. I don’t have to convince somebody else so……make my own stuff! This is how Hymen Holocaust started 4 years ago!

02) What were or are still the most inspirations for you and Hymen Holocaust?
Well basically my wife and kids give me the inspiration hehehe!! Musically I get inspired by a band like Mortician. This band is awesome. It’s not that I listen to a Mortician album and then make some riffs for Hymen Holocaust but I just like to listen to Mortician albums. Lyrically I get inspired by women!!!! They just rule!!!03) Well I think that handling all intruments by yourself it is easy for you in the meaning of freedom and the final result you want to reach. Is that so?
That’s sooooo damn right!! I can make the songs just I want them to sound like. I don’t have to explain things to someone else. I like it to be 100% free in making music! It’s like therapy for me!04) But I’m more worried about your rehearsals. How do you do it by yourself?
I don’t rehearse. In my mind I have the drums finished so the only thing I have to do is record the drums. Meanwhile I make some riffs on my guitar which are played on that particular drum part (in my mind again). So when I start recording all is finished…..I just have to record all the stuff. I don’t need to rehearse because I know what to do. I write down some notes for the drums and guitars and with only that on paper I enter my studio and start recording. During the recordings I change things when necessary but the changes aren’t that hughe. Just some accents here and there but the main thing is done in my mind.05) All the recordings so far were done by you so are happy with the outcome of three albums and songs of splits?
Yeah I am happy! Ofcourse I would do things different when I would record “Necromance” again but back in the day I was very satisfied with that…..still am but some things I would do different. The equipment I bought after that recordings is better so you can hear that in the end result!!06) And can you tell how did you get a deal with No Escape Records?
When I recorded just 3 songs (initially for myself) I just sent some songs to No Escape Records. No Escape is just the best record label for me….I dunno why but that label came in mind when I finished these songs. They immediately said yes to my proposal so the deal was made quite soon! We both are satisfied with the cooperation so we’ll be stuck to eachother for years I guess!07) First your attack was called “Necromance” which can simply be said to be grind/porno/gore. Some time has passed from this recording so how do you see it today? Would you change anything in it if you could now?
08) The next one was “Blood Feast” is which you continiue you style without many huge changes. Well, for sure sound was better and the song structures were more dynamic in my opinion… How was the response for this one? And if you have to compare it with “Necromance” what differences would you point out?
The guitar sound is way better on the second album! The responses weren’t better….neither worse! For a lot of people Necromance is still album number one…..other say they like Blood Feast more….just a matter of taste. I like Blood Feast more than the debut but that is because of the production…..not the way the songs are!
09) I really love your lyrics which are hilarious and sick as well. Expecially huge toast for “Britney”!!!! This song fucking rocks man! “Britney, queen of pop, Why don’t you suck my cock” hahahaha
A mixture of sickness and humour! The best ingredients for lyrics for this kind of music.
10) Now can you quickly go though all your splits and tell us some important or intresting shit about them?
Ehm…well….there’s only one split-cd (my bad - released few times so got confused - Waldemar). This one is with Cuntgrinder and Satans Revenge on Mankind! Both German bands which I really like. I met those guys from both bands and when the idea came up doing a split album both bands were into that rightaway!! Because of the 2 Germand bands on that album we decided to release it on a German label….Rotten Roll Rex! After that release we all got millionairs so we can focus on just music right now!!!!
11) Last fresh mean is called same “Hymen Holocaust”. I haven’t got oportunity to get it yet so can you tell me what we can find on this album?
Shame on you!! You should get that album now!! On this album (based on “Der Todesking”) are 7 songs. For each day of the week 1 song….just as in the movie it’s about the 7 days of the week! On each day someone commits suicide. The sound is rawer than on previous albums..yeah that is possible!!12) Hymen Holocaust is playing with all real instruments and I would like to ask you about your opinion of drum machines / percussion? You find your self an enemy of that or not really?
No not an enemy but I prefer real drums. It’s easy for me to say because I am a drummer but drum machines just sound like……drum machines! I like the sound of real drums! The complete sound is like a real band. You actually can’t hear it’s a one member band! Hymen Holocaust sounds like a 4 member band….that wouldn’t be the case when I used a drum machine!13) What do you think about using intro before each song? Porn or horror/gore one? Don’t you think that after listening for tenth time this album you are just sick of listening same shit before each track?
That’s why I kept the intro’s short! The intro’s add something to the music. I let the intro’s paste all songs together. The album is actually telling a story so the intro’s don’t get bored. They have to be there otherwise you get some songs on their own! Using the intro’s between the songs give an extra dimension to the music.14) Hymen Holocaust was meant to be only a studio project and then suddenly you played on Obscene Extreme and other places? How did it happen?
When No Escape released the debut album I got so many positive reactions that I decided to do live gigs. Some Cliteater members wanted to help me out live….we played Obscene Extreme, OVS Grindfest, Blastonbury and the Grind Gtiger Festival. Some of the members just helped me out because I wanted to do some live gigs but after a while they decided to quit the activities for Hymen Holocaust because it wasn’t their music. That’s why I searched for other members and this way I would be able to do guitar and vocals and get away from the drums. In Hymen Holocaust I want to be a frontman! The next festivals will be done as a threesome!15) Ok can you tell me now your 5 best ever albums and explain why?
Well….I have a top 5 but explaining why?!?!? The main thing on all these albums is that all is very downtuned! I just like that!1. “Opus(sy) VI”: Cock and Ball Torture
2. “Hacked up for barbeque”: Mortician
3. “Hymns of indigestible supporation”: Last days of Humanity
4. “Sicko Baby”: Mucupurulent
5. “Gorge this”: Disgorge (Holland)
16) Future plans? Are you working already on new stuff?
I am busy recording a full length album at the moment. Hot Love will be the album title….based on the self titled movie from Jrg Buttgereit. I finished all music and I will start recording the vocals next week. The album will get released in March or April I guess on No Escape Records….again! Right after the recordings are finished I will start recording 5 tracks for a split-cd with Blood Bastard from Holland! This album will get released in March or April as well only…this one is for Scrotum Jus Records. Blood Bastard asked me to be part of this split-cd and they made the deal with that label already so Scrotum Jus is up next becoming a millionair!!17) Ok, thx you Morris for answering my questions! Stay gore and sick!
You bet I will!!! Thank you for the interest in Hymen Holocaust!Interview with Morris by Waldemar in September ‘08
